Small Steps Big Changes – SSBC – A Better Start

Small Steps Big Changes is Nottingham’s 10 year “A Better Start” Big Lottery Funded Programme to improve the outcomes of 0-3 years olds. Headed up by CityCare, a third sector provider of community health services, SSBC is a new partnership between, the City Council, Health partners, Voluntary sector Organisation, Parents, Families and Communities. The programme focuses on children, parents and communities in Arboretum, Aspley, Bulwell and St Anns.

Small Steps Big Changes (SSBC) is a new programme of activities designed to give every child the best start in life.  We focus on helping children

  • learn to talk and communicate
  • be confident, friendly and understand their emotions & behaviour
  • enjoy eating well and keeping healthy

The SSBC programme is FREE and available to all families living within the council ward areas of Arboretum, Aspley, Bulwell and St Ann’s who are either expecting a baby or who have a child under the age of 4.

SSBC is supported by The Big Lottery Fund, receiving £45million funding over 10 years as part of the ‘A Better Start’ Programme.
