Lat year nearly 600 early childhood researchers, practitioners, policy makers, advocates, and future teachers from around the world joined the Conference in Opatija, Croatia.
The OMEP was founded 70 years ago, in August 1948, at the worldwide conference held at Charles University on the topic of “Childhood and Global Society”. The idea behind it was to create an organisation that would strive to improve education and the general situationfor small children all over the world, regardless of their race, gender, religion, nationality or social origin.
The aims and objectives of OMEP are to defend and promote the rights of the child with special emphasis on the right to education and care worldwide. To this end, OMEP shall help any undertaking which could promote access to quality early childhood education and care.
